BEST helps European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore, we create opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic events and educational symposia. We offer services like an international career center to broaden the horizons for the choice on the job market. Our priority is to offer high quality services for students all over Europe. Thus, we manage to bring all the partners in the "student - company - university" triangle closer.
Engineering competition for 9-12 grade high school students. Each team is presented with the same engineering-related task and a certain amount of time for it to be done. Afterwards, teams present their work to the judges. After evaluation, winners of the first three places are announced and awarded. Winners of the first place are invited to compete in an engineering competition for university students – EBEC.
Engineering competition for college students. Teams can choose to compete in one of two categories – Case Study or Team Design. Task for teams of Case Study category involves studying a certain issue and coming up with the best solution for it using all the accessible sources of information. Task for teams of Team Design category involves construction of a certain working device or model using materials and tools given. Competition lasts for 2 days. On the first day, teams get to work on their tasks. On the second day, teams present the work done. Both categories are being evaluated separately and best teams of each category are awarded. An unforgettable orienteering competition on foot, suitable not only for participants from Lithuanian but for participants from abroad too. The purpose of this event is to get familiar with the city of Kaunas through variety of fun activities, tasks, etc. Each task is worth a certain amount of points, depending on how challenging it is. Each team has a few guides walking along. They are the ones who dedicate points after evaluating if the task is done properly. At the end of the competition teams with the most points are awarded.
It is a seasonal event that involves 22 university students from different countries. During the event participants are provided with lectures related to the specific topic of the courses as well as the opportunity to practically apply the knowledge gained. All the lectures and practical activities are hosted by competent lecturers and company representatives. At the end of the courses, students present their projects for evaluation. Only after they attend all of the lectures and present finished project of their choice, students receive a certificate that proves their attending.
